WHAT IS AN UNVENTED CYLINDER?
An unvented cylinder is a hot water cylinder that is supplied directly by mains water instead of by a tank in the loft. This makes the performance of the hot water (pressure and flow rate) much better.
You get equal performance of hot and cold water throughout your property. This makes for fantastic shower performance and rapid bath fill.
The unvented cylinder will also cope much better with multiple hot water points than a combi boiler making them suitable for large properties. They are extremely well insulated making them highly efficient. The heat recovery is also much faster than a traditional cylinder.

Arrived exactly at stated date and time, completed job within quoted timetable at the quoted price, absolutely hassle free and would fully recommend this company to anybody, have also provided excellent back up service as my wife and I are elderly and not the quickest these days in picking up new and totally different technology to the old boiler system. We did a lot of research before deciding which company we would trust to carry out this work for us. Paul explained our options clearly and concisely, very quickly providing the level of confidence we were seeking. In particular, he repeatedly delivered on his promises. He gave us some realistic timescales, and he stuck to them meticulously. He did what he said he would do, which made it a stress free experience for us. We have been delighted with the quality of the workmanship, and with the professionalism of PDL Heating – we would have no hesitation in using them again, or recommending.

A friend recommended PDL Heating to me, and I couldn’t be happier with the work they have undertaken. In our first meeting, they very clearly outlined several options for us, there was no “hard sell”, but their advice & guidance was extremely welcome. I was extremely impressed with their approach – every time they said they would do something, they did it, on time, and in budget. They replaced a boiler, and installed 12 new radiators – their quote was very reasonable, and the final figure we paid, was exactly what we had agreed. As our installation was scheduled to last 4 days, and we would have been without heating / hot water for the duration, we elected to go away for a few days, and we had no hesitation whatsoever in trusting Paul with the keys to our house. I’ve dealt with plumbers / heating engineers previously, who promise the earth, but leave you feeling disappointed, so it is a real pleasure to find a company who “do what it says on the tin”. From my first enquiry with Paul to completion and commissioning of the new boiler everything went smoothly. His explanation of what would be needed to upgrade my antiquated (50 year old) water heater to a shiny new combi boiler, and pipe work modifications, was thorough and clear. He followed up quickly with a detailed quotation and was able to undertake the work quickly and to budget despite the obvious difficulties for everyone with the COVID-19 pandemic. He and his colleague arrived bang on time each morning and worked quietly and unobtrusively. On completion I was given a helpful walk-through of the new system and controls. All old items no longer needed (hot water cylinder, zone valve, circulating pump, water heater, piping etc) were taken away. It’s now a month after completion and I’m happy to say everything is working fine and gas consumption is improved! read less

When we decided that we needed a new boiler we phoned Paul from PDL and he came out promptly and did a site survey. We had already decided on the make of the boiler that we wanted. He agreed with our chosen manufacturer and explained the capacity and type of boiler that would be appropriate for our home. He had a thorough knowledge of the product and he inspired us with the confidence to proceed. Paul emailed us an estimate the very same day, which we were happy to accept. In less than two weeks our new boiler was installed by Paul and his team. It took a day to install. Paul and his team were considerate and all was clean and tidy when they left. Our new boiler has now been in situ for three weeks and is working well. We would be happy to recommend PDL to anyone that requires a new heating system. read less

I needed a replacement boiler and contacted PDL since they had been recommended by a family member. Paul was very knowledgeable and explained the various options when he came to provide the estimate, which he sent through on the same afternoon. They (Paul and Robert) have done a thoroughly professional job of installing the new boiler (and shower!). They worked constantly throughout the two days that it took. I was kept informed as to progress throughout. They took care to minimise the amount of disruption and protected the carpets etc. from damage.
